6-18 Class - Alan Kay's visit
This class session Alan Kay came to discuss New Media with us. He gave us a history on his experience which included working with the Arpanet in 1969. Alan also discussed working with Steven Spielberg for the movie E.T. Alan used to work at Xerox for several years where he developed knowledge and skills with various techs. He also gave us some background on his time employed at Apple for 12 years. Alan knew Steve Jobs and gave us a description on the type of individual Steve was. We discussed the Era's of Developed vs Pop culture, and how these changes has helped technology advance. He also gave an interesting breakdown about extroverted, introverted, and innovative type of people. Overall, I enjoyed the class and his discussion about New Media.
